Vehicle Description: S/N 5526859832. Frame off restoration in 1980. Currently in need of paint job and some minor repairs (a few rusty spots, seat, tires. Powered by a Chev 327 (1969 vintage) with a 55 Chev radiator. Two gas tanks (Dodge van replaces stock tank and a VW van tank under bed). All the rest of vehicle is pretty much stock.

Vehicle Story: This unit was purchased by my uncle in the summer of 1960 in Helena Montana for use on their ranch near Glen Montana. I was 16 at the tine and can remember my uncle driving up in his new Willys 4WD pickup. I worked on their ranch for the next 3 summers and this truck was a workhorse for the ranch. They continued to use the vehicle until 1976 when it was retired. The engine was used as a "spare" for a large water pump at one of their ranch sites that did not have electricity. I purchased the truck for $300 and hauled it to California over Thanksgiving break in 1979. I replaced and rebuilt just about everything in the vehicle.
Starting last summer I embarked on the second frame off rebuild. Will upload pictures. Frame and drivetrain in garage, body and bed at paint shop. Frame repainted, added Saginaw box, front diff all new seals, rear diff was shot (got a great carrier from member) all new bearings (including axles), and added self adjusting and parking brakes to rear. Want to add swing pedals to have set up to add disk brakes to front. Made tailgate by combining the 1960 and a 1949 (has the WO). The 49 was twisted like a pretzel but salvaged the WO). Spot Welded the skins to a new 0.1 sheet and used tubing for top and bottom.
