Vehicle Description: Purchased 01/2003 - not running. All original. Engine had been run w/o oil - rod bearings non-existent. Replaced with rebuilt L6-226. New brake shoes, rebuilt master and wheel cylinders, new brake lines (steel & rubber). Relined gas tank, electric fuel pump, new fuel line, remanufactured carburetor. Replaced floorpan. The bed was a basket case. Made 1 good one out of three bad ones. Afraid to count the hours I put into the bed. Update: June 2005. Painted and put back together - and finally on the road, June 2005. Went "retro" from 1-piece to 2-piece windshield.

Vehicle Story: Originally an Oklahoma truck. Went through two owners & two lives before being coming to rest for 11 years in a field in 1986. In 1997 PO #3 brought it home to Illinois to be restored, but after buying a few parts, he put them in a box in the bed, lost interest and sold it to PO #4 - also in Illinois ... who bought a few more parts, added them to the box, lost enthusiasm and sold it to PO #5 in Storm Lake, Iowa. He got out of the jeep business and passed it on to me in January 2003. During the frame off restoration, I used most of the new and used parts that came with it, bought A LOT more parts - and have even made a few. Finally painted and back on the road in June, 2005. Two and a half years to rebuild it (including summer 2004 when we just drove it ugly). For the last 10 years - since July 2005 - this truck resides in Monument, CO plowing the driveway in winter and hauling raw material for the rock garden in summer.
